Dr. Achina Joglekar

The Arty Vet

My Journey

I was born and raised in Mumbai in a humble, art-loving family, where creativity was as valued as compassion. My mother, a JJ School of Art graduate, was the first to show me that emotions could live in colors, that stories could be told without words. From a young age, I sketched on anything I could find — the backs of notebooks, old newspapers, scraps of unused paper.

As life unfolded, I chose to pursue veterinary medicine — a calling rooted in service and empathy. I found immense meaning in tending to those who cannot speak for themselves. But through all the years of rigorous science and clinical care, the artist within me stayed quietly alive

Goa: A Homecoming to Myself

Twenty-four years ago, I moved to Goa. It was here, amidst the ocean air and the silence of simpler days, that my love for art was rekindled. What started as a weekend pastime slowly turned into a meditative practice — a means of grounding, healing, and reconnecting with my inner world.
